Wells and Somerton & Frome Conservative Future
A new joint Conservative Futures Group has been started for the Wells and Somerton and Frome Constituency Associations. We are very pleased to start this Page with a report from its new Chairman Mathew Ellis and look forward to new contributions.
December 2007
At the end of a successful year for the Conservative party, nationally and locally, I thought I would drop a line to update members on Conservative Future activity.
Firstly, it has been agreed to join Wells and Somerton & Frome branches together. Hopefully this will enable more activity within both constituencies.
We have had a stall at Strode College freshers fair in Street in September, had a drinks party in Pilton in October and took part in general campaigning, particularly during the district council elections in May.
Next year we plan to attend CF functions from outside the county, non CF functions such as hunt balls, and continue campaigning especially in Frome, where we can help CF member Harry Thomas who has been employed by the local party as a part time local campaigner.
To start this off we’re in Frome at 11.00 am on Saturday 12th January meeting outside the Cheese & Grain Hall in the centre of town.
I hope everybody has a good Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
